Costa ready to sit out six months for Atleti return
Diego Costa is prepared to miss six months of football to secure a move to Atletico Madrid from Chelsea despite their transfer ban, according to Marca. The Spain forward has revealed how Antonio Conte informed him he was not needed next season at Stamford Bridge, though La Furia Roja boss Julen Lopetegui has insisted the 28-year-old's place at next summer's World Cup will not be in jeopardy. Atletico will put together a special preseason training programme that will last until January, when Costa can be registered, in the ultimate sacrifice for Diego Simeone.

Griezmann signs new Atletico Madrid contract
Antoine Griezmann has signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid. The 26-year-old French striker has committed his future to the Spanish club by penning a new contract until 2022. But although he has seen his salary increase to a huge €14million a season, Griezmann's release clause remains unchanged at €100m. The deal makes him Atletico Madrid's top earner and leaves him trailing only Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar in La Liga.

Pepe confirms Madrid exit
Portugal defender Pepe confirmed he was leaving Real Madrid, but insisted he was yet to agree to a deal with Paris Saint-Germain. Pepe, 34, is out of contract at the end of the month and wanted a two-year deal at Madrid. But, after being offered just a one-year extension, he has decided to move on from the club he joined from Porto in 2007.
Pepe helped Madrid to three LaLiga titles and three Champions League crowns, but injuries saw him make just 18 appearances in all competitions this season. He has been heavily linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants PSG and Serie A side Inter, but said he had other options.

Atletico Madrid transfer ban upheld
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has upheld a FIFA transfer ban on Atletico Madrid, in a bitter blow for the Spanish club. The ban prevents Atletico from registering new players until January. Atletico will now be unable to sign Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette, who had reportedly been lined up as a possible replacement for Griezmann. Atletico said in a statement that the ruling is "unfair and represents irreparable harm to our club."

Manchester City forward Enes Unal has joined Villarreal on a five-year deal. The 20-year-old Turkey international spent last season on loan at Twente in Eredivisie, scoring 19 goals in 33 matches in all competitions. Sirigu joins Osasuna on loan
