Braga make move for Luis Alberto

Braga have added to their Brazilian contingent with the capture of central midfielder Luis Alberto from league rivals Nacional. The 28-year-old has signed a contract running until summer 2015. Alberto arrived in Portugal with Nacional in 2008 from Cruzeiro. Meanwhile, Braga and Senegalese forward Ladji Keita will play on a loan at Nacional.

Braga sign Miguel Lopes

Braga have completed the signing of defender Miguel Lopes on loan from Porto until the end of the season. The 25-year-old right-back spent the second half of last term on loan with Betis but he has yet to feature this campaign. Lopes started his career at Benfica in 2005.

Ribas swaps Genoa for Sporting

Sporting Portugal have completed the signing of Uruguayan striker Sebastian Ribas from Genoa on loan until the end of the 2012/13 season, after which the Portuguese side will have the option to make the move permanent for €2.5m. The 23-year-old joined Genoa from French club Dijon in the summer but is yet to make an appearance for the Serie A side. Sporting have also confirmed Brazilian midfielder Renato Neto is returning to the club after a spell on loan at Cercle Brugge. The 20-year-old made 52 league appearances for the Belgian side since August 2010, scoring five goals.

Based on the point totals at the end of the season in the Portuguese Super Liga, the top two teams will be directly qualified for the UEFA Champions League. The third-placed team has to go through qualifying rounds to enter the UEFA Champions League. The fourth and fifth-placed teams will be qualified for the UEFA Europa League. The bottom two teams in the Portuguese Super Liga will be relegated to the Portuguese Second Division.
