Joao Mario joins Inter for €45m

Portugal international Joao Mario has joined Inter from Sporting in a €45 million deal. The 23-year-old midfielder, who was part of the Portugal side that won the 2016 European Championship, passed his medical on Friday before agreeing personal terms.

It has been reported that Inter originally wanted a €10m loan plus a €35m obligation to buy in 2017. But Sporting released a statement on Saturday that said: "We have reached an agreement with Inter Milan for the transfer of the player Joao Mario for €45m, of which €5m is dictated by objectives."

Pasalic joins AC Milan on loan

After successfully passing his medical on Saturday, midfielder Mario Pasalic has joined AC Milan on loan for the 2016/17 season. The Rossoneri made the move official after fears regarding the Croatian's back were put to rest, opening the door for his move from Chelsea. The 21-year-old joins on an initial loan, with Milan holding first refusal on the player should the Blues decide to sell him next summer.

Pescara sign Aquilani

Pescara have signed former Italy international forward Alberto Aquilani from Sporting, the club confirmed on Friday. The 32-year-old will have 30 percent of his rights retained by the Portuguese club. Aquilani has been capped 32 times for Italy since his debut in November of 2006, scoring five goals. He scored five times in 32 appearances for Sporting last season.

Genoa sign Giovanni Simeone

Genoa have signed striker Giovanni Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone, from River Plate for a reported €3m fee. The 21-year-old has made 31 appearances for River since debuting in August 2013, scoring six goals. Simeone also scored 12 goals in 29 matches while on loan at Banfield last season. He played for Argentina at the Olympics, coming on as a substitute in all three games.

Lazio have competed the signing of Angola international defender Bastos from Russian side Rostov for a fee in the region of €6.5m. The 24-year-old made 84 appearances for Rostov after joining from Petroleos Luanda in his homeland in July 2013, scoring four times. He joins Moritz Leitner, Jordan Lukaku, Ciro Immobile and Wallace among the new arrivals at Lazio, who begin their Serie A campaign at Atalanta on Sunday.

Milan have completed the signing of Jose Sosa from Besiktas on a two-year contract. The 31-year-old Argentine arrives at San Siro in the transfer reportedly worth €7.5m. Sosa, who has previously represented Napoli and Atletico Madrid, played 31 times in the Turkish league as Besiktas were crowned champions last season, scoring seven goals. The attacking midfielder adds to Milan's signings of Gustavo Gomez, Gianluca Lapadula and Leonel Vangioni ahead of the new Serie A season.

Matri joins Sassuolo

Former Italy international Alessandro Matri has completed his move to Sassuolo from AC Milan. Matri, who turns 32 later this week underwent his medical on Tuesday and will be presented to the press in the coming days. His contract with Milan was due to expire at the end of the 2016-17 season, and the veteran striker chose to leave for his 10th club of his career. Some of his other previous clubs include Juventus, Cagliari, Genoa, Fiorentina and Lazio.

Roma have completed the signing of Bruno Peres from Torino. The agreement for the defender is for an initial €1 million loan, with an obligation to make the transfer permanent, depending on the completion of certain performance targets, for a fee of €12.5m. The 26-year-old Brazilian began his professional career at Audax in his homeland, later going on to represent Santos for two seasons. He joined Torino in 2014, going to make 65 appearances in Serie A, scoring six goals.

Tello joins Fiorentina on loan

Cristian Tello will join Fiorentina on a season-long loan with the option of a permanent transfer next summer, Barcelona have announced. The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with the Viola, scoring twice and assisting three goals in 13 appearances. Tello, who broke into the Barca team under Pep Guardiola in 2011, has found his opportunities to play regularly limited and spent two seasons on loan at Porto.

Lazio sign Leitner from Dortmund

Lazio have signed German midfielder Moritz Leitner from Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee. Leitner, 23, arrives in the Italian capital to replace Ogenyi Onazi, who joined Turkish side Trabzonspor. Leitner joined Dortmund in 2011, but failed to break into the team on a regular basis. He spent two years on loan with Stuttgart but upon his return in 2015 only managed 13 appearances for Dortmund last season.

Sanchez joins Fiorentina on loan

Fiorentina have signed Aston Villa's Carlos Sanchez on a season-long loan deal, pending a medical. The 30-year-old defensive midfielder has over 65 caps for Colombia. He began his career in Uruguay, having moved to River Plate from youth side Danubio, before joining French club Valenciennes in 2007. Sanchez moved to LaLiga side Elche in 2013 before being switching to Villa the following season. He made 28 appearances in his first Premier League season but was hampered by injuries in 2015-16 as Villa were relegated to the Championship.

Vermaelen joins Roma on loan

Barcelona have confirmed that defender Thomas Vermaelen has completed a move to Roma on an initial loan for the forthcoming season. There is no fee for the loan, and the Serie A club will have the option to sign the 30-year-old on a permanent basis next summer. Vermaelen joined Barca from Arsenal in 2014 but struggled with injuries throughout his time at the Camp Nou. He made just 21 appearances in all competitions in two years with Barca.
