Roma complete deal for Jonathan Silva
Roma have confirmed the arrival of defender Jonathan Silva on an initial loan deal. The left-back joins from Portuguese side Sporting Club on a temporary basis until 30 June 2018. As part of the agreement, the Giallorossi have the option to make the transfer permanent. The 23-year-old Argentina international began his career at hometown club Estudiantes de la Plata, before joining Sporting in the summer of 2014. In total he made 43 appearances for the Portuguese side, after spending the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Boca Juniors.
Aarons joins Hellas Verona on loan
Newcastle winger Rolando Aarons has joined Hellas Verona on loan until the end of the season. The 22-year-old has struggled for first-team football this season due to injury and has fallen down the pecking order, appearing only five times. Aarons joined the Newcastle youth system in 2012 after being released by Bristol City, and has gone on to play 27 times for the club, scoring four goals.
Fiorentina sign Dabo
Fiorentina have announced the signing of Bryan Dabo, the French midfielder joining from Saint-Etienne. Dabo, who is reported to have cost the Serie A side €4million, will undergo a medical on Tuesday but Fiorentina confirmed the deal has been completed. The 25-year-old was at Montpellier when the club won the Ligue 1 title in the 2011-12 season, though he had yet to break into the team. Dabo, called up for France's Under-21 team in 2013, was booked in his last five Ligue 1 appearances for Saint-Etienne.
Rafinha leaves Barca for Inter loan
Inter have completed the signing of Barcelona's Rafinha on a loan deal until the end of the current season. The 24-year-old has been out of favour at the Camp Nou this term, having scored six times in 18 appearances last season. However, Rafinha failied to break into the first team this season after surgery on his internal meniscus towards the end of last season and a five-month rehabilitation period.
Lisandro Lopez joins Inter Milan on loan
Inter Milan have signed defender Lisandro Lopez on loan from Benfica, with an option for a permanent transfer in the summer. Lopez, 28, underwent a medical on Monday night, after a first training session at Inter's Pinetina training centre, and is likely to make his debut on Sunday against Roma, though he will be probably start from the bench and come in as a substitute.
Castan joins Cagliari on loan
Roma have confirmed that defender Leandro Castan has joined Cagliari on a six-month loan deal. The agreement runs until 30 June 2018. Castan joined Roma in the summer of 2012, and has since gone on to make 81 appearances for the club - scoring one goal.
Lazio sign Caceres from Verona
Lazio have announced the signing of former Juventus defender Martin Caceres from Verona on a one-year contract. The 30-year-old joined Verona in August 2017 after being released following half a season at English Premier League club Southampton, where he made only one appearance. Caceres won four league titles and an Italian Cup in his second spell at Juventus but his contract was not renewed when it expired in June 2016 after injury problems.
Genoa sign Rossi
Former Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi signed with Genoa following a series of serious knee injuries. The 30-year-old has agreed a deal with the Serie A side that is reported to run until the end of the season, with the option to extend it by a further year. Rossi tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee while playing for Spanish club Celta Vigo in April and underwent surgery. He has been a free agent since June.
Ansaldi joins Torino
Torino have confirmed the arrival of Cristian Ansaldi from Inter. The Argentine joins on a two year loan with a redemption obligation attached. Ansaldi joined Inter last summer but was unable to cement a place in the first team plans of the managers. The 30-year-old left-back made 26 appearances for Inter and is joining his third Serie A club in Torino, having also had a spell with Genoa.
Nani joins Lazio on loan
Nani has sealed a loan move from Valencia to Lazio with the deal including the right for the Serie A club to make the switch permanent. The Portugal international only transferred to LaLiga from Fenerbahce last July, signing a three-year deal at Mestalla, but he has opted for a deadline-day switch to the Italian capital for the remainder of the season. Former Manchester United forward Nani's career has also included spells in Portugal, Turkey and Spain.
Juventus sign Howedes on loan
Schalke centre back Benedikt Howedes has joined Juventus on a season-long loan deal after passing a medical with the Serie A champions on Wednesday. The Germany international joins the Turin-based club on a €3.5million loan deal, which could be upgraded to a permanent move for a further €8.5m after a year. The 29-year-old, capped 44 times by Germany, has spent his entire career at Schalke since he turned professional at the German club in 2007.
Schick moves to Roma
Roma has completed the signing of forward Patrik Schick from Sampdoria in a club record deal adding up to around €42 million. Schick had been set to join Juventus last month but the deal collapsed due to a reported heart problem at the time. The 21-year-old underwent and passed medical tests in Rome on Tuesday before putting pen to paper on a five-year deal.
Roma said the agreement included an immediate loan fee of €5m and "upon the completion of certain sporting objectives, an obligation to make the transfer permanent for a further €9m." There are performance-related bonuses worth up to a maximum of €8m if the deal becomes permanent. Additionally, Sampdoria is entitled to a final payment of €20m in February 2020.
