The midfielder, reported to have cost up to 37 million, could make his debut in the German Supercup against Wolfsburg on Saturday. Werder Bremen have confirmed that Franco Di Santo has activated a release clause in his contract to leave the club immediately, with Schalke set to sign him. The former Chelsea and Wigan forward, who joined the northern Germany side on a free transfer in 2013, still had a year left to run on his contract in Bremen. However, a predetermined release clause, reported to be in the region of 6m, meant the 26-year-old could leave at any time should a club meet the full amount.

Vidal move to Bayern confirmed

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Juventus to sign Chile international midfielder Arturo Vidal, the German club's CEO Karl Heinz Rummenigge confirmed on Thursday. Vidal, no stranger to the Bundesliga having played for Bayer Leverkusen for four seasons until 2011, has won four straight Italian league titles and helped Juventus reach the Champions League final last season. The 28-year-old, who also helped Chile win the Copa America title for the first time on home soil earlier this month, could join up with his Bayern team-mates as early as next week, Rummenigge said.

Augsburg 21.7.15
Trochowski joins Augsburg

Augsburg have given midfielder Piotr Trochowski a one-year contract after he impressed during a trial with the Bavarians. Trochowski, 31, was a free agent after being released by Sevilla at the end of last season and he has spent the last week training with Augsburg. The contract offer includes the option of a second season. Trochowski spent the past four seasons with Sevilla, winning the Europa League twice with the Spanish side, although he only appeared a total of 59 times in the Primera Division.

Hertha 18.7.15

Czech international midfielder Vladimir Darida has joined Hertha Berlin from relegated Freiburg. The 24-year-old, who swapped Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen for Freiburg in summer 2013, has signed a four-year deal. "[He's] a young, but experienced and versatile player who will bring much-needed creativity to our team."

The Germany U19 captain spent the 2014-15 season on loan at German second-tier outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf, where he made 23 appearances.
