news: transfers

PSG 18.1.17
PSG send Ikone to Montpellier

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Jonathan Ikone has joined fellow Ligue 1 club Montpellier on loan until the end of the season. Since signing his first professional contract last June, the 18-year-old midfielder has played seven games for PSG and was one of the best players in a League Cup quarterfinal win against Metz last month. Ikone won the under-17 European Championship with France in 2015.

Lyon 18.1.17
United and Lyon agree Depay fee

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sell Memphis Depay to French side Lyon for a fee that could reach around €25m. The 22-year-old Netherlands forward joined United from PSV Eindhoven for a reported fee of 28.8m in June 2015, but a frustrating first season at Old Trafford was compounded by a disappointing second campaign. Depay has made just one start in all competitions under Jose Mourinho.

Bastia 17.1.17
Oniangue joins Bastia

Wolves midfielder Prince Oniangue has joined Bastia on loan until the end of the season. The Congo captain moved to Molineux from Reims last August for an undisclosed fee. But the 28-year-old has only made 11 first-team appearances and none since a 1-0 defeat at Brighton in mid-October when he was substituted at half-time.

PSG 26.12.16
Draxler to join PSG

Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Julian Draxler is set to join Paris St-Germain on a four-year contract in a deal reportedly worth up to €47m. The 23-year-old joined Wolfsburg from their Bundesliga rivals Schalke in August 2015 to replace Kevin De Bruyne, but he never really settled at the Volkswagen-backed club. Draxler scored five goals in 34 league games for Wolfsburg. Altogether he has 23 goals in 153 Bundesliga games, and three in 27 games for Germany.

Marseille 1.9.16
Vainqueur joins Marseille on season-long loan

Marseille have made Roma midfielder William Vainqueur the third signing of a busy deadline day. The 27-year-old Vainqueur has joined on a season-long loan as he returns to Ligue 1 for the first time since departing Nantes in 2011. Vainqueur followed Rod Fanni and Clinton Njie to the Velodrome, with the latter arriving as part of the deal which saw Georges-Kevin Nkoudou head to Tottenham.

Nice 31.8.16
Balotelli joins Nice on permanent deal

Mario Balotelli has left Liverpool and joined Nice on a free transfer. The Italian striker spent most of Tuesday on the south coast of France where he agreed to a permanent move away from Liverpool. He spent last season on loan at Milan and has made a total of just 28 appearances in two years for Liverpool.

Nice 23.8.16
Nice sign Dante

Nice have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Dante from Wolfsburg. The 32-year-old had confirmed on Sunday he was poised to reunite with his former Borussia Monchengladbach coach Lucien Favre at the Ligue 1 club, and the deal was announced on Monday evening once the formalities were completed. The former Lille, Standard Liege and Bayern Munich man has signed a three-year contract, according to sources, despite pledging his future to Wolfsburg earlier this summer.

Toulouse 21.8.16
Toulouse sign Durmaz

Swedish international winger Jimmy Durmaz has joined Toulouse from Greek champions Olympiacos. Durmaz, 27, has signed for Toulouse on a three-year deal, following his compatriot Ola Toivonen in putting pen to paper at Le Stadium this summer. The former Malmo player arrives in France after spending two years with Olympiacos, with whom he won back-to-back Greek titles.

Toulouse 9.8.16
Edouard joins Toulouse on loan

Paris Saint-Germain youngster Odsonne Edouard has joined Toulouse on loan. The 18-year-old forward came to prominence when France won last year's UEFA European Under-17 Championship, with eight goals in five games including a hat-trick in the final. However, he failed to register an appearance in Ligue 1 last year and will look to obtain more first team football under Pascal Dupraz.

Joining Edouard in the attacking third at Toulouse are recent additions, Ola Toivonen and Ola John, while Christopher Jullien signed from Freiburg to bolster Dupraz's stocks in central defence.

PSG 8.8.16
PSG sign Jese from Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain have have completed the signing of Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez on a five-year contract. The Spaniard joins PSG for a fee believed to be €25m. Jese has started just 14 games for Real Madrid, but made 49 substitutes appearances for the club and has scored 13 goals since making his debut for the senior team in August 2011. The return of Alvaro Morata from Juventus further limited his starting opportunities under coach Zinedine Zidane, prompting his move to Paris.

Bordeaux 1.8.16
Bordeaux agree to sign Jeremy Menez

Bordeaux have reached an agreement for the transfer of AC Milan striker Jeremy Menez, subject to a medical. The 29-year-old France international is on the verge of returning to Ligue 1, where he has spent the majority of his 12 years in professional football after beginning his career with Sochaux in 2004. Menez, who has 24 international caps to his name, also lists Monaco, Roma and Paris St Germain among his former clubs before he moved back to Serie A with Milan two years ago.

Marseille 30.7.16
Gomis joins Marseille on season-long loan

Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis has joined French side Marseille on a season-long loan. The 30-year-old will return to Ligue 1 having begun his career at Saint-Etienne. He joined Swansea on a free transfer in 2014 following six years at Lyon. Gomis scored 17 goals in 71 games, but frequently flattered to deceive. The France international was expected to become a focal point in the Welsh club's attack when striker Wilfried Bony left to join Manchester City in January, 2015 but his form remained patchy.
