Van der Meyde fills Lazovic gap at PSV

PSV Eindhoven have signed midfielder Andy van der Meyde until the end of the season. The former Ajax and Inter player, 30, arrives on a free transfer as Serbia striker Danko Lazovic leaves the Dutch league leaders to join Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a four-year deal ahead of the new Russian season. Van der Meyde has been without a club since his release by Everton last year.

Willem II signs midfielder Donald from Ajax

Midfielder Mitchell Donald has left Ajax for Eredivisie side Willem II on a six-month loan deal. The 21-year-old was struggling to get regular first team action under head coach Martin Jol and he has made five Eredivisie appearances this term. The Tilburg side have also recently added Stef Nijland and Frank van der Struijk.

Ajax sign midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro

Ajax have completed the transfer of young playmaker Nicolas Lodeiro from Uruguayan side Nacional for a reported €4 million fee.Nacional would receive 15 percent of any future sale of the 20-year-old midfielder. Lodeiro was a key member of Uruguay's team at last year's Under-20 World Cup in Egypt. He was called up late in 2009 to the Uruguay national team and is expected to be on the side at this year's World Cup in South Africa.

Groningen have signed defender Theo Lucius

Groningen have completed the transfer of defender Theo Lucius. The free agent has signed a contract until the end of the season. Lucius had been a free agent ever since he was released by Rotterdam powerhouse Feyenoord last summer. Groningen were in the market for a new defender due to the lengthy injury absences of Sepp de Roover and Ondrej Svejdik. The 33-year-old was on trial in the past couple of days and impressed enough during a training camp in Portugal to earn himself a contract.

Twente sign Vagif Dzavadov

Vagif Dzavadov, Azerbaijan's 2009 Player of the Year, has joined Twente on a three-and-a-half year contract. Dzavadov impressed coach Steve McClaren when Twente faced off against the 20-year-old's former club Qarabag in the UEFA Europa League. "He can play in any position in attack and is a player for the future," said McClaren, who has brought Dzavadov to the Dutch league leaders for an undisclosed fee.

Kerlon swaps Inter for Ajax

Ajax have bolstered their forward line by signing attacking midfielder Kerlon and Serbian striker Marko Pantelic. The 21-year-old Kerlon joins on a season-long loan from Inter Milan, with the Amsterdam side holding the option of signing the Brazilian on a permanent deal. Pantelic, 30, also arrives on a one-year contract after being released by Hertha Berlin during the summer. Ajax have also signed 18-year-old midfielder Ze Eduardo on a year-long loan from Cruzeiro.

AZ Alkmaar have completed the signing of Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm for a fee believed to be in the region of €3m. The 21-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with last season's Dutch league champions. Elm arrives from Swedish titleholders Kalmar. Fulham, Manchester City and Everton had all expressed an interest in the talented midfielder, but he has opted to move to to the Netherlands.

Heerenveen add Lejsal and Losada

Heerenveen have strengthened their squad with the signings of Czech goalkeeper Martin Lejsal and Argentinian midfielder Hernan Losada. Lejsal, 26, joins on a one-year loan from Brno in his homeland and will compete with Brian Vandenbussche for the No.1 spot. Heerenveen had been looking for a replacement for Kenny Steppe, who was ruled out for a minimum of six weeks because of a broken bone in his hand. Losada, 27, also arrives on a one-year loan deal from Anderlecht, where he made just eight league starts last season after two successful campaigns at Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen.

PSV Eindhoven have bolstered their squad ahead of the new season by signing defender Stanislav Manolev from Litex Lovech for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old Bulgarian international has agreed a three-year contract with an option for two more years. PSV have also drafted in Andre Ooijer and Orlando Engelaar this summer.

Ajax signs midfielder Demy de Zeeuw

Ajax have signed Dutch international midfielder Demy de Zeeuw for an undisclosed fee from Eredivisie champions AZ Alkmaar. The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal. De Zeeuw joined AZ Alkmaar ahead of the 2005/06 season and soon developed into a key player under then coach Louis van Gaal, scoring 15 goals in 119 league appearances and helping the club to only their second Eredivisie title last term.

Twente have completed the signing Costa Rican international Bryan Ruiz from Gent on a four-year contract for a reported club record fee of €5m. The 23-year-old can play on the left wing or in support of the strikers. Twente have also signed strikers Bernard Parker from South Africa and Ghanaian Ransford Osei. Parker has signed a four-year contract and joins for €1m from South African side Thanda Royal Zulu. Osei moves on a season-long loan from Israeli side Maccabi Haifa.

Ajax have confirmed that their first signing for the new season is left-back Thimothee Atouba. The 27-year-old Cameroonian defender moves on a free transfer having committed to two seasons with the Amsterdam giants, with a further two-year option. Atouba played 83 Bundesliga matches for Hamburg and was coached there last season by new Ajax coach Martin Jol.
