transfers news

Ajax 29.4 : Ajax have completed the signing of Argentinian striker Dario Cvitanich on a five-year contract. The 23-year-old arrives in Amsterdam on the advice of Banfield coach and former Feyenoord player Pablo Sanchez for a reported €6.4m fee. Cvitanich, who also holds a Croatian passport, scored 31 goals in 93 appearances for Banfield after making his debut in October 2003, including seven in ten so far this season.

Alkmaar 24.4 : AZ Alkmaar have announced the signing of defender Gill Swerts on a free transfer from league rivals Vitesse. The Belgian international, who was set to be out of contract this summer, has agreed a four-year deal with Alkmaar. "After losing Gretar Steinsson to Bolton Wanderers, Swerts, 25, is the right player to play right-back at AZ," said Alkmaar technical director Marcel Brands.

Feyenord 17.4 : Feyenoord have announced the signing of Moroccan Under-21 midfielder Karim El Ahmadi from league rivals Twente. El Ahmadi, a product of Twente's youth system, made his first-team debut in March 2004 and has become a regular since. He join Feyenoord in the summer on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Twente 15.4 : Vitesse midfielder Theo Janssen has agreed to join Twente on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old has been with the Arnhem side since he was a child, save for a spell on loan with Belgian side Genk in the 2003/04 season. Janssen will move to Twente at the end of the campaign.

PSV 4.3 : PSV Eindhoven have announced the signing of attacking midfielder Nordin Amrabat on a four-year contract from Venlo for an undisclosed fee. The 20-year-old will join the Dutch champions on July 1. Amrabat signed for Venlo last summer and quickly established himself, scoring 8 goals in 27 league games this season.

PSV 10.2 : PSV Eindhoven have announced that Peruvian striker Reimond Manco will join the club in the summer. The 17-year-old joins from Alianza Lima in his homeland for an undisclosed fee on a five-year contract. Manco has made 16 appearances for Alianza Lima, though just two have been from the start.

Groning. 31.1 : Forward Berry Powel has signed a one-and-a-half year contract with Groningen. The 27-year-old, who arrived from De Graafschap for an undisclosed fee, will help fill the void created by Erik Nevland's transfer to Fulham. Powel's place at De Graafschap has been taken by Diego Biseswar, with the 19-year-old coming in on loan from Feyenoord. Groningen have also taken midfielder Anco Jansen, 18, from Zwolle on loan until the end of the season, replacing Rasmus Lindgren who left for Ajax. Meanwhile, midfielder Danny Holla, 20, retutns to Groningen after half a season on loan with Zwolle, where he scored 8 eight goals in 23 appearances.

Heerenv. 31.1 : Heerenveen have signed defensive midfielder Michal Svec from Slavia Prague on a contract until summer 2012. The 20-year-old, who is a member of the Czech Republic's under-21 team, scored two goals in 66 league matches for Slavia. Svec can play in midfield or at right-back. Financial details of the transfer were not given, but Czech media said Slavia would receive about €1.9m.

Ajax 29.1 : Ajax have added two new players to their squad, central defender Samuel Kuffour from Roma and Rasmus Lindgren from Groningen. Ghanaian international Kuffour joins on a six-month free transfer deal with an option for a further two seasons. Ajax moved for the 31-year-old as a replacement for Jaap Stam, who retired suddenly in October. Lindgren, 23, arrives in a €2.5m move on a contract running to summer 2010. The Swedish international left the Amsterdam club in 2005 having failed to make the leap from youth department to first team, but established himself as a key player in Groningen.

Feyenord 26.1 : Feyenoord have signed Dutch international midfielder Denny Landzaat from Wigan Athletic. The 31-year-old joins the Eredivisie side for a fee reported to be in the region of €1.5m, on a two-and-a-half year contract. Also, Feyenoord have loaned defender Dwight Tiendalli to Sparta Rotterdam for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old arrived at Feyenoord from Utrecht in 2006, but injuries have prevented him making his mark at De Kuip.

Ajax 22.1 : Ajax have signed defender Bruno Silva from Groningen on a four-and-a-half year contract. The Uruguay right-back has made a €3.75m move to the Amsterdam side after failing to report for Groningen's training following the winter break. Groningen moved swiftly to cover the departure of Silva, 27, by signing Belgian defender Sepp De Roover from Sparta Rotterdam for an undisclosed fee. De Roover, 23, arrives on a two-and-a-half year deal, with the option of another two seasons.

Groning. 22.1 : Groningen have secured the services of defender Matias Cahais on a one-and-a-half year loan from Boca Juniors. Groningen also have the option to make the deal permanent for an undisclosed fee, with the 20-year-old centre-back then to sign a four-year contract. Cahais captained Argentina to victory in the U-20 World Cup in Canada last July.

Feyenord 19.1 : Michael Jansen has joined Feyenoord after being released by Vitesse, despite ongoing concerns over a heart problem. The 23-year-old has agreed a six-month contract with a view to spending three more years in Rotterdam, although Feyenoord plan to loan him out for the remainder of the campaign. "This is a slice of luck for us," said sporting director Peter Bosz. "Michael is an exceptionally talented player who has been sidelined by bad luck for a long time. He's now fully recovered from his heart problems. We will give him the chance to prove himself again at the highest level."

Twente 15.1 : Twente have taken midfielder Ibrahim Maaroufi on a one-and-a-half-year loan deal from Inter Milan, with an option for a permanent transfer. With big midfield names like Patrick Vieira, Olivier Dacourt and Esteban Cambiasso, the Belgian Under-21 international struggled for playing time after arriving to Inter in 2006. Maaroufi, 18, has only managed one league appearance.
