Basel 29.1.14
Basel sign Suchy from Spartak Moscow

Czech international defender Marek Suchy has agreed to move from Spartak Moscow to Basel until the end of the season, though the Swiss club have the option to make it a permanent deal in the summer. The 25-year-old arrives as cover for Bulgaria centre-back Ivan Ivanov, who tore a cruciate knee ligament earlier this month. Suchy has played 17 matches for the Czech national team.

Basel 18.8.13
Basel seal Sio signing

Basel 1893 have confirmed the capture of forward Giovanni Sio from Wolfsburg. The Ivory Coast international, 24, has inked a four-year contract with the Swiss champions. After a brief spell in Spain with Real Sociedad, Nantes youth graduate Sio made his name in Switzerland with Sion, where he scored 17 times in 48 league appearances. In January 2012 he completed a move to Wolfsburg, but with first-team football hard to come by he spent last season on loan at Augsburg and Sochaux-Montbeliard.

Basel 9.8.13
Basel sign Bulgaria defender Ivanov

Bulgarian defender Ivan Ivanov has joined Swiss champions Basel from the Serbian champions Partizan Belgrade. The 25-year-old Bulgaria centre back, capped 35 times by the Balkan country, has agreed a three-year contract. Basel needed an experienced defender after Austria international Aleksandar Dragovic joined Dynamo Kiev last month.
